Welcome, fellow Isandorian! #
This segment will cover the basics of how to start the process of joining the World of Isandor. After you make your character, you will be plunged into a room with one fellow, bookshelves, papers all strewn over the floor, and signs depicting the current events of the server.
When you speak with the NPC, you will receive two options: Permadeath or Respawn.
Permadeath (also known as Permanent death) is where your body becomes lifeless and will not respawn to life. Now, there are options for advanced villages to bring you back to life, gasping for that fresh air once again, but there is a lot of work for that, and they would also require your life essence – in the form of a crystal.
Respawn is where, when you die, you will be brought back to life in your homestead. How? Well, one will have to find out; how an island such as Isandor can do such magical wonders.
Question: Is there a difference?
Answer: Thank you for asking. Yes, there is!
Permadeath and Respawn mode differ on XP. All raw XP (e.g., DM events, player/guild leader quests, recipes, and player XP tokens) is set at a given number. The XP will be designated to you without any penalty. XP that is gained from creatures will be received on a greater amount than those that chose the respawn system. Even when exploring the unknown lands, players that picked Permadeath receive XP, while the others will not. Why? Great risks come with great rewards, my friend.
After you decide your fate (which cannot be undone), you will arrive at one of two locations based on your decision.

As you notice, there are more signs, additional NPCs, and options to advance your character even further. As a new user, some systems may feel overwhelming as you start. As there is a lot going on in the background. If you open up your inventory you will see two class skill tokens. The first token will be your Primary, and the second one will be your Secondary. These are your classes.
After you decide which class you would like to partake in, the inventory will change those tokens into different icons based on what you choose to become. These are two examples of several other classes to choose from.

There is also the Builder token. This token allows you to build a bed, decorations, mass storage chests, and several hundred items at your expense. They all require building materials (e.g., wood branches, granite, etc.) to be used to build such objects. For additional information, please click on the link for the builder token: https://www.wildcardstudios.org/worldofisandor/docs/isandor-building-system/
If you’re feeling spicy and want to customize your character, you can alter your flaws/merits and/or switch your build/class. You can speak to these fellows and interact with the signs. **Note: These NPCs and the Flaws/Merits system are ONLY available for players who choose to partake in Permadeath.

There are multiple options in terms of picking your destination. The easiest one is the Greenlands as it’ll have abundant trees, boulders/metals, and berries. This location also provides the companion app (WIP), which helps your kingdom on a grander scale. Each starting location provides different materials. The Greenlands may provide oak trees and copper compared to the Winter Island contributing tin and hickory trees. Once you have chosen your destination, then your story will begin.
You now have arrived at your home.
Here is where all the magic happens. Depending on your profession, you can gather resources that benefit you and startup an economy for trade with other players and/or kingdom.
There will be multiple buildings that will provide their own attributes to your kingdom:
The first one will be your thatch home.
In this home, you can build a bed to rest, various workbenches, home decoration, and whatever else you can manage to fit in there.
The second building will be a general store.
At this location, you can add any player-made or gathered item as a currency, and place any item as you wish in the display case. If you want to learn more about how the general store works, please click on the following link: https://www.wildcardstudios.org/worldofisandor/docs/isandor-dynamic-general-store-system/
The third building will be your warehouse.
This structure provides a way to store additional items. You are free to build whatever object inside here, but most players will use this place to store all their excess commodities.
The fourth property mentioned will be your Delivery Point / Packaging Center.
You can package any number of items (Note: it has to be of the same object) and deliver them in the format of a delivery crate. To learn more about the packaging and delivery of your commodities, please go to the following link: <link> — (WIP)
The fifth establishment will be your Resource Drop-Off Building – The building that helps support your kingdom.
This area is designated for resources that are allocated to your kingdom. The commodity will be uploaded onto the companion app, where you can distribute how those resources are spent according to your needs. To know more about Resource Drop-Off and how it provides the necessities for your kingdom, please click on this link: <link> — (WIP)
The sixth property will be your dock.
This will be how you leave your lands and obtain access to Isandor and other player isles. If you want more information about the docks and how to set sail, please click on the following link: https://www.wildcardstudios.org/worldofisandor/docs/special-building-docks-player-travel/
Now, there are player XP tokens mentioned prior. These items provide 50XP per usage. Someone who picked Respawn will only get 1 token every 68 minutes, whereas, the Permadeath user will get 4 tokens in the same amount of time.
Lastly, you will obtain an individual key for each building. These keys will help you lock and unlock each structure. Remember, if you have people over, make sure your doors and display cases are locked. You are responsible for your own commodities and safety.
**Note: Any resets or updates to the server – will automatically lock all your doors – this prevents players from stealing your items if you are offline.
I hope this helps out any and all players, and with that, welcome to the World of Isandor.
